Abstract

In this in-depth interview, Jody Clarke reflects on his long participation in Habib Davanloo’s Closed-Circuit Training Workshops, offering a rare, first-hand account of their structure, pedagogical rationale, and clinical impact. The discussion explores how these workshops addressed therapists’ unconscious resistances, shaped the later development of ISTDP, and influenced Clarke’s personal life, professional practice, and understanding of honesty, intimacy, and responsibility in psychotherapy training.
